On November 24th, 2018, Invictus Gaming hosted a celebration banquet with around a hundred invitees in honour of their victory at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship. Former and retired iG players, PDD, Xiaoxiao, and Kid, also attended. There were many events, of which included a joint performance by star mid laner Song ‘Rookie’ Euijin and iG’s vice president, VK, a magic show where support Wang ‘Baolan’ Liuyi cheekily volunteered his bot laner Yu ‘Jackeylove’ Wenbo, and draws for numerous prizes.

This is the third wave of Wang ‘WXZ’ Sicong’s celebratory prize draw. The previous two were held on Weibo. In the first, 113 people were drawn and 10,000 rmb was given to each. In the second, 67 iPhone XS Max 256 phones and cases were given in honour of the 67 kills by Invictus Gaming in the finals.

This third event included prizes such as a custom iG luxury sports car from Aston Martin with signatures of the iG members, gold coins featuring the iG logo and the faces and names of the members, several iPhone XS Max devices, the Nintendo Switch, and the MacBook Pro. The winner of the sports car happened to be a college classmate of Wang Sicong, who promised to gift the car back to Principal Wang for the 31st birthday. Furthermore, Judy Qi of China’s Produce 101 was invited to perform.

Although happy and relaxed at the event, Rookie and the rest of the team are already looking towards Season 9. “I hope next we can become LPL Champions,” he exclaimed, “and that more and more fans will support us.”

With their eyes set for the LPL Spring Championship and perhaps further than that, fans are eager to see what heights this team has yet to reach.
