In their first match of the LPL 2019 Summer Split, IG managed to take a hard earned 2-1 win over Dominus Esports. After the game, TheShy was interviewed by the LPL hostess. Here is what he had to say.
Q: When we watch you through yours or someone else's stream, you always use ‘troll-y’ Chinese words. Who taught you those words?
TheShy: Once on stream, our midlaner was giving up the game and I said ‘you're terrible (菜)’. Maybe everyone now knows that meme.
Q: In Game 1, you picked Rumble, a champion that hasn’t been played for a long time. So why did you pick him today?
TheShy: I don’t limit my champion picks within a certain boundary these days, so I play many champions. It just so happened that I got the chance to pick him today as a result.
Q: You were heavily focused in all three games, like being chased by your fans everywhere. What was your experience like in today’s game?
TheShy: It’s our first game of the Summer Split, so we just got focused. Fortunately, my teammates performed well and we were able to take the win.
Q: There is a saying that as much as you are aggressive on the stage, you are very cute and soft off stage. What do you think of it?
TheShy: I agree that I’m more serious in the games while in daily life, I’m on the cute side.
Q: It’s a special day today for you, it's your two-year anniversary since you starting playing on stage! What have you changed and learned along the way?
TheShy: When I was not a pro player, I didn’t feel that playing games can be this tired. When I stepped into the scene, I could feel the hardship by myself. Two years is not a long time while it’s not a short period after all, what I have learned is that I have to work harder in the future.
Q: Any words to your fans?
TheShy: I’d like to thank everyone coming here to support me. Thank you so much.
Q: Why do you enjoy brawling in ARAM so much?
TheShy: Because it’s really fun. That's something I always wanted to tell you. You can hone your skills in ARAM, so I hope more players commit to playing ARAM as well.
