After another astounding performance, FPX has no intention of slowing down and giving the other teams a chance to get back on track. With their swift 2-0 win against OMG today and upon securing their 7th winning streak, FPX has currently placed themselves comfortably at the number 1 spot on the LPL ladder, beating IG and TOP that currently ranks at 2nd and 3rd place.
Here's a quick interview Doinb and Gimgoon did with LPL host few hours ago!
Q: In game 1, you guys were leading in early game, but OMG successfully held back your aggression. There was also a moment where you opted for Baron instead of team fight, who made that call?
Doinb: I remembered it was Lwx.
Q: So, what was the reason behind that call?
Doinb: Because they didn’t have any vision around Baron pit and I put a pink ward there.
Q: You picked Renekton in game 2, it was the first time Renekton has been played in this split and your opponent was Urgot. Was that a pick you prepared beforehand and what was the strength of this strategy?
Doinb: Yeah, I met a lot of Corki and Renekton in my solo q games.
Q: OMG’s rookie toplaner Ale is being praised by many people nowadays, how would rate his performance as a veteran?
Gimgoon: He is pretty good and not much different from other toplaners. In the current meta, toplaner’s performance is pretty much depends on the jungler.
Q: Griffin in LCK is another team that’s undefeated so far, did it ever cross your mind that you could achieve such a long winning streak?
Doinb: I’ll have to put off this question until we beat IG.
Q: Your next opponent is no other than IG. In a previous interview, IG said that they would look themselves as a challenger going to this match. So, what’s your thought of it, being challenged by the defending champion of Worlds? How would you prepare for it?
Gimgoon: As long as we work hard together we will be able to defeat them, their drafts are pretty solid though.
Doinb (translates for Gimgoon): I appreciate for their words, I (Gimgoon) think we could beat them if we can try our best.
Doinb: I agree with him.
Q: So, do you think you’ll be able to beat Theshy?
Gimgoon: It depends on our jungler, Tian is an aggressive player.
Q: I heard that you’ve been practicing some new picks these days, like Zoe. Do you think you’ll be able to pick her in the near future?
Doinb: Zoe as a champion, calls for luck, but I personally think I have no luck when it comes to these so we’ll see.
Q: We all know you’ve learned some Chinese idioms recently, can you pick one to describe your teammate Gimgoon?
Doinb: (Thought for a bit) Refined and easy-going (it’s actually not a Chinese idiom)?
Q: What about you, Gimgooon?
Gimgoon: A hundred airplanes (a type of donating tokens on streaming platform).
Q: The last question, if you were to choose one player to duo with, who would it be?
Doinb: A double-dealer, Melon.
Gimgoon: Lwx, he is a refined person, just like me.
